Doing what I can to save and renew our endangered American democracy is my promise to all of our grandchildren. I have gradually come to realize I must work to defend America through words and action as my grandfather, father and brother did by risking their lives fighting in wars, and as our sons and daughters are doing in Iraq, Afghanistan and throughout the world today.
